How does the program work?

My program is a guided curriculum. 2 live Zoom trainings customized to your unique practice each month. Self-guided learning video training, workbooks, reference materials, patient laminates, and more. Self-guided video training was designed for busy clinicians. At 25-35 minutes each they are packed with information, yet short enough to be done as a lunch and learn.

Do I need to buy a microscope before training and how many are needed?

No, it’s not necessary. Before diving into microscope shopping, we lay the groundwork for your periodontal treatment plans, scheduling, billing, and overall practice workflows. Once this is in place bringing in the microscope becomes seamless. I can help you pick the microscope if you like. Just like any camera technology the images do vary based on brand/type/etc. While three RDHs can share a microscope, it's important to note that this will limit each RDH to taking 2-3 biofilm samples a day, not a sample for each patient.

Every clinician should have one within reach rather than storing supplies beside the microscope.

Fast Dry Polish (affiliate link) It may not be marketed as a microscopy product, but this fast-drying nail polish works beautifully as a slide sealant. Unlike specialty sealers that can take several minutes to dry, it allows us to view the slide sooner and saves valuable time in the operatory.

Frosted-End Microscope Slides: (affiliate link) Not all microscope slides are created equal. The frosted end provides a consistent handling zone, helping clinicians separate clinical and clean handling to reduce cross-contamination. These slides also separate easily, unlike smooth glass slides that often stick together and get wasted.

USB mouse (affiliate link) A USB mouse connects directly to the Motic Panthera camera, allowing you to zoom in and out, capture images, and save videos with a simple click. You’ll only need this accessory if you use the same microscope and camera setup I recommend.

Saline Solution (mounting medium: (affiliate link) This small bottle makes it easy to dispense one controlled drop of saline. Too much saline gets messy and prevents the cover glass from laying properly, which can interfere with image quality. The precise dropper gives clinicians better control and makes slide preparation much easier.

Simply remove the card from the camera, insert it into the reader, and drag the files onto your computer. From there, you can upload images to your practice software or save short videos in a separate patient file.
